Well, its been a long time since i posted something.. During the past year of blog dormancy, a lot of things have happened... Yusaris, My first DH race, MTB Himachal etc. etc.
Let me start off with Yusaris. Asala, my other bike, had been having problems. Mostly, technical. So Was doing frequent trips to the LBS for repairs and mending. And there I saw it standing, in all its glory by the window. Although I had seen it once or twice earlier, I hadn't actually given it a proper look. So this time, I walked over to it and delved myself in the beauty of its beautifully crafted frame, the air fork, the sleek hydraulic brake lines, the shiny disc rotors, the confident handlebar... Sheer devastation restlessly to be unleashed on some trail.
So I walked over to the shop owner, talked logistics and finance and picked Yusaris up in March, 2010.
As I rode it out on the road, I knew I had to hit a trail as soon as possible. So next day morning, I woke up early enough to hit Sarjapur trails. Reached there by 0630 hrs, smoke, tea and hit the trail behind Decathlon! and Was it an experience... Yusaris nimbly carved fine sweet lines through the sand, taking on anything thrown in its path head on! I had fallen in love all over again!
As time neared 0900hrs, I had gained confidence to take on some more stuff and proceeded to the burnt farming patches before heading home. I sped across a couple of humps only to hit a burnt stump jutting out of ground. The crankset's teeth bore into my ankle and created 3 slashes! Blood had been drawn. The pact sealed. :D
Headed to Decathlon, got some First Aid done and headed back to office. I just lived through the whole ride again!
